About Us

Our mission is to bridge the gap between the university and its stakeholders, fostering relationships that support our $2.7 billion economic impact, 26,000 students, and 143,000 alumni. We coordinate with local, state, and federal entities to advocate for UCR's interests and facilitate access to university resources.

Our office builds relationships with community leaders and elected officials, advises on policy issues, and supports legislation that benefits the campus, the UC system, and public higher education. We partner with the University of California Office of the President and governmental relations offices in Sacramento and Washington, D.C., advancing UCR’s mission of launching a new generation of innovative thinkers.

Through strategic advocacy and community engagement, UCR Government and Community Relations mobilizes supporters and enhances public understanding of our role in empowering the California Dream and driving sustainable progress.
